Frequently asked questions
FAQ about ROCKBIRD RENT
Here you will find answers to questions that we often answer for customers and interested parties on the topics of renting, leasing, and other “full-service” activities:
In case of leasing, the user (lessee) has to bear all rights, risks and obligations for the leasing object, even if the “leasing rental contract” includes “full service” with a dealer or service company. The lessee is liable for damages as well as for the failure of the leasing object. In case of traditional leasing, the lessor, i.e. ROCKBIRD, bears all these risks.
In the case of leasing, the user (lessee) is liable for damage and for the failure of the machine or vehicle. Accordingly, he must carry out repairs himself, maintain the object and, in the worst case, provide for a replacement. At ROCKBIRD RENT, we as lessors take care of all these issues and are responsible for the continuous availability of the leased object or an equivalent replacement.
In the case of leasing or “rental with full-service contract”, the user (lessee) must carry out repairs himself, e.g. due to wear and tear or internal damage, and maintain the leased object himself. There is also no compensation for downtime. At ROCKBIRD RENT we take care of repairs and maintenance. We also grant lease reductions in case of longer downtimes or provide replacement machines or vehicles.
When leasing or “renting with a full service contract”, the user (lessee) is usually not entitled to a replacement piece of equipment, replacement attachment or replacement vehicle in the event of an extended shutdown. At ROCKBIRD RENT, we ensure the availability of an adequate replacement free of charge so that our customers can continue to work with as little downtime as possible.
In the case of leasing or “rental with full service contract”, the user (lessee) has to take care of the handling and coordination with the suppliers as well as with insurance companies himself. At ROCKBIRD RENT, we take care of this, organize the maintenance specified by the manufacturers (not only on the machine or vehicle, but also on the attachment or body), clarify repairs as well as warranty, goodwill and damage claims, insurance claims and inspection dates (e.g. UVV, main inspection, tachometer inspection, etc.).
When leasing or buying, the customer must take care of his own desired equipment; see which manufacturers offer what, where the differences lie, which configurations make sense and which less. At ROCKBIRD RENT we take care of this for our customers and calculate our rental properties already with a high standard in terms of safety, comfort and economy. However, if further special equipment is desired (such as individual paint jobs, special rims, etc.) then this is of course possible in the long-term rental and is taken into account accordingly in the calculation.
In case of leasing or “rental with full service contract” the user (lessee) bears the costs for damages. With ROCKBIRD RENT we only exclude damage due to violence (this is again covered by insurance with a deductible per claim) and normally damage to parts in contact with the ground (as we cannot influence this). Everything else is included in ROCKBIRD RENT.
ROCKBIRD is one of the few companies in the market for recycling, industry and waste disposal that rents out construction machinery and commercial vehicles independently of manufacturers. With us, you choose the right object for your needs from a rental fleet of around 500 construction machines, commercial vehicles and attachments and rent it for the entire period at fixed calculated prices. Whether handling excavators, wheel loaders, skip loaders, roll-off tippers or other machines: These are in use across all industries and are regularly replaced by us with new ones – even during the rental period. Also, within the rental contract, you can usually exchange the rental object and thus test what best meets your requirements.
We at ROCKBIRD make your employees fit for the correct work with machines and vehicles from our rental park. Because improper handling can quickly cause high damage and thus unnecessary costs. In our training courses, in which we also cooperate with the manufacturers, we impart all the important knowledge for the economical and safe operation of our handling excavators, wheel loaders, skip loaders and other objects. We clarify questions about maintenance and care, how to reduce wear and fuel consumption in daily handling and how to determine optimal operational configurations. We also sensitize your personnel with regard to the reduction of violent damage.
ROCKBIRD ensures maximum efficiency and comfort for its customers. With ROCKBIRD RENT, we reduce the risk for our customers to a minimum and offer top services at fair prices, as the basis for a long-term and trusting partnership. But we also stand for maximum transparency with regard to contract and financing models. Because you often have to look very closely at what is included and what is not included in the offers for renting, leasing or even “rent with full service”. The pitfalls, especially with the multi-layered “full-service” contracts, often lie in the fine print and there are really big differences that many people only notice when disadvantages and additional costs threaten.
“Leasing” is also translated into German as “Miete” (rent). It is therefore possible to conclude a “rental contract”, e.g. with a dealer or financier, and a separate “full-service” contract, e.g. with a dealer or service company. This constellation is then usually the same as a “leasing” and “full service” contract. In the end, the responsibility for the object always lies with the user (lessee). In the case of a “full service” contract, the risk for maintenance and repairs is reduced, if necessary also in connection with a “warranty extension”, but very often some components are excluded in these contracts (e.g. hydraulic hoses, attachments, special equipment, etc.).
We have extensive experience from over 20 years of renting construction machinery and commercial vehicles. There is no application in the fields of recycling, industry and waste disposal that we have not helped medium-sized companies as well as municipalities and communities with – both with individual and standard offers. Our customers have one contractual partner (and thus one contact person) who takes care of everything. Due to our independence from manufacturers and our view of a large mixed fleet of machines and commercial vehicles, we also know very well what is successful on the market and what is not. We also constantly educate ourselves internally to keep our rental products at the cutting edge of technology and to scan the market for useful innovations. To this end, we also enter into critical dialogs with manufacturers and ensure that the products are sensibly configured and offer optimum value for money. Not every advertised innovation actually brings an advantage. We clarify these and many more questions for you; this is how we make it economical and convenient for our customers with ROCKBIRD RENT.
